    Cubs give it FIREPOWER!

On the weekend of the 13th several of our cubs were lucky enough to spend a whole weekend in London on a district trip organised by our friends in Wash Common. Never ones to miss an experience the whole Greenham leader team went along for the ride as well!

As well as visting the Museum of London (and getting to see the 2012 Olympic cauldron up close) we crossed the Thames in just about all the ways you can think of.. walking over (bridge) and under (foot tunnel), riding along on a water taxi and high in the sky on the Emerates sky line. We spent the Satruday evening at the firepower museum carrying out a number of fun activities but unfortunately were not able to visit Downing Street on the Sunday. Everyone was well and truly exhausted by the end of the weekend.

The cubs all had a fantastic time and would recommend that if an opportunity comes up again that people take the opportunity!

After their 8 and a half mile sponsored walk Shere Khan, Adam, Kai, Owen and Matthew (and Matthew's Dad) have returned, a bit foot sore but fine! Apparently £200 has been raised for Greenham Scout group in sponsorship!
    Well done everyone.

    Remembrance Pride

Greenham Cubs took part in their Remembrance Parade today (10/11/2013).
11 of our Cubs lined up with the rest of the Scout District behind other esteemed organisations and parade through Northbrook St. to the Market Place for the Remembrance Sunday service, where the sun was shining brightly.
Thank you to all the Cubs who were able to attend - you did Greenham proud!
Also, a huge 'Thank you' goes to members of 2nd Newbury, 4th Newbury and the O'Neill Family who clubbed together and got us our very own flag - you personify the true meaning of Scouting. Thank you.

Well we've had a few great weeks already this term, meeting at Greenham Common and at Newtown Cemetery. Many thanks to all those who gave up their time for the Cubs, in particular Brian and his team at the cemetery - the Cubs had a fantastic time! (Photo's to be uploaded as soon as possible.)

Greenham Cub Pack embarked on it's maiden Pack Camp this weekend (13th - 15th Sept) at Youlbury Camp site near Oxford.
Not even the weather could dampen the fun and activities enjoyed by all 14 youngsters who took part.
Huge thanks go to Akela Martin - without him this camp could not have happened. Thanks Martin!
