Latest News - Group Donation Pays Off!

A few years ago our long-standing Group Scout Leader retired, Father Bernard Dagnall. As a gift the Group had a collection for Anthonys Church, Penyi, Ghana

Two months ago Father Bernard went there to see where the money had gone. It was spent on a water tank so that the school and church at Penyi could have a more regular water supply. The local vicar, Fr Simon thanks you all very much for your generosity!

4th Newbury Scout Group consists of 3 youth sections;

[Beavers] [Cubs] [Scouts]
(6 - 8yrs)(8 - 10.5yrs)(10.5 - 14yrs)

What is Scouting??

We are always keen to hear from people who want to join any of the sections, especially if you are an adult and want to help out! If you are interested and want more information about the Group then please complete our Information Request form, and someone from the relevant section will get back to you as soon as possible.

All our sections meet on a Monday evening, when we are meeting inside we are based at St Johns Church [map]. Although many of our programmed activities during the year involve meeting in other places.

4th Newbury (St. Johns) Scout Group has been in existence since 1921 and a brief history of the Group is available on-line.

The Scouts are a uniformed organisation, you do not need to have the uniform for your first evening. However you do need to purchase it before you can be invested into your section. Information regarding uniforms - where to get them and where to put all those badges can be found here.
