The 4th Newbury Scout Troop has been rebuilt during the past few years after leader shortages in 1998 almost resulted in the closure of the Troop. The Troop is currently flourishing with 20 regularly attending members. Please send us your details for more information if you are interested in joining. Meetings take place every week, during term-time, on a Monday evening, usually starting at 7.30pm and finishing at 9.15pm. The Troop runs a varied programme with numerous different activities depending upon the time of year and weather. This year (2008) the Scouts have been challenged to submit an article for inclusion on this site, so hopefully you should see their reports of our activities appear here during the coming months. This will help them towards completion of their Creative Challenge. Details of all the badges available to members of the Scout Troop can be seen at ScoutBase UK. Every year, the Scout programme is geared towards preparing for our Summer Camp in August. This year we visited Merkenveld in Belgium. Next year (2009) we're off to Blacklands Farm in Sussex. | ||
